P251A
by t_said_so » Sat Apr 24, 2010 6:19 pm
Hi all
I drive a 57 reg Transit 260 110ps GLX. I have recently noticed that engine has become a bit noisier and sometimes when it idles at the lights, it starts rocking slightly and making knocking noise. It is out of warranty, so I took it to the local garrage and they hooked it onto OmiScan, which came up with:
P251A Power take off enable switch circuit open
They said they couldn't fix it, and they recomended a local diesel specialist, where I am booked in for Wednesday.
Question is: Should I go straight to Ford with it and spend a lot of hard earned cash or is it possible this could be fixed elsewhere?
Regards

Voided as a result of the use of a fuel sys flush, not approved by Ford. It is a hole new story, I wouldn't bother you to go into details, unless you insist to know

That code won`t affect the running of van, someone has re-flashed the pcm with a calibration that throws that code in,needs rpm controller turning off using ids,job done.
When was last time it had a fuel filter ?

Hi
How did you find out it was one the injectors? I have the same fault code, but after I replaced the IMV and did "learn fuel pump" on the car, it starts and runs like normal, but still have the wrench in my dashboard and the fault code. Anyone have ideas ?
