How To Make Our Cherry Chocolate Nut Bars Recipe:

Start by melting the chocolate chips and chunky peanut butter on low power in a microwave safe bowl.

Microwave the peanut butter and chocolate in 30 second intervals stirring in between each time until the milk chocolate chips are melted.

Stir everything together, adding the chopped peanuts.

Cherry Chocolate Nut Bars Recipe (4)

Once they are melted together, lightly spray a 9×13 inch glass pan with nonstick cooking spray and use the back of a spoon or a rubber spatula to spread half of the peanut butter and a thin layer of the crumb mixture at the bottom.

NOTE: Be sure to spread each layer to the edges of the prepared pan to make sure it all sets up well.

Now place the pan in the fridge to allow the chocolate layer to set up.

In the meantime, melt the marshmallows in the microwave on very low, stopping it to stir every 20 seconds.

When the marshmallows are melted and smooth, stir in the cherry frosting until it is well combined with the marshmallows.

Remove the pan from the fridge and spread the cherry marshmallow mix over top of the first layer of chocolate, then return it to the fridge.

After that has been able to chill in the fridge, reheat the remaining chocolate, slowly in 30 second intervals if the chocolate has begun to set up.

Then spread the remaining chocolate over top of the cherry layer.

Now, return the pan to the fridge to let it fully set up then cut it into small pieces. This should make about 48 pieces.

Once cooled and set, wrapping these snack bars in parchment paper and storing them in an airtight container ensures they stay fresh and ready to be savored when hunger sets in. These Cherry Chocolate Nut Bars cater to both convenience and taste, making them a go-to choice for busy moms and families alike.

YES! I have been looking for this recipe for a while. I even resorted to begging friends on FB to see if any of them had it. A former boss used to make it and I never got around to asking for the recipe.

Thanks! I can't wait to try this out.

  6. Annette says:

Girls you are killing my hips but love love your site. I tried the cracker toffee recipe and OMG it is fantastic. Now I saw this one and gotta try it. it is worth the few seconds on the lips and years on the hips. Keep up the great site. xoxo

  7. Amanda Weber says:

I've never seen cherry frosting in a store. Is there a particular brand you use?

  8. Six Sisters says:

Betty Crocker makes a cherry frosting (I found it at Wal Mart). Duncan Hines has the new frosting where you have to add the flavored powder and they have a cherry-vanilla that would work. Hope this helps! These are super yummy!

  9. Ashley Reina says:

This looks amazing! Can't wait to try it out...

  10. David and Leah says:

Could you just make homemade buttercream with almond flavoring? We always say it tastes like cherry. And also, would it work to use a container of marshmallow cream instead of melting the marshmallows? I happen to have the one and am out of the other. Thanks!

  11. Six Sisters says:

We have only made this following the recipe. But if your homemade buttercream is what you like, I think it should work. We're not sure on the marshmallow cream. I'm thinking it may just work! Good luck!

  12. Diana - FreeStyleMama says:

    These look amazing!

  14. C says:

Did you try it with the marshmallow cream? I only ask b/c I wanted to try it too if it worked. I just made this with actual marshmallows like the recipe called for but I had difficulty trying to get them to melt smooth enough.

  15. Evelyn says:

Oh My Goodness!! I haven't had these since I was a little girl (too long for me to think about, lol) Sounds amazing.

You can make these with Mr. Goodbars and then you don't have to add peanuts or chocolate chips.

  19. Kelley says:

Oh my goodness! Thank you for posting this recipe. I love Bing candy and have tried a different version of this recipe with not much success :( I can't wait to try this recipe..yum!

  20. vickie says:

Just wondering if you could substitute almond butter and chopped almonds instead of peanut butter and peanuts? Not a peanut butter fan. I do like peanuts though, so maybe some other kind of substitute for the peanut butter. Love your site, love the variety of recipes and I have made lots of them to date, each one turned out really well. Thank you all so much for your dedication to your site.

  21. Stacy says:

Just made these! They are so YUM! My husband and I have been craving one of those cherry cordials since we moved away from Idaho! So excited to be able to make them on my own now! I made one addition to the recipe that made them just PERFECT though! I added a jar of maraschino cherries that had been drained very well and halved on top of the cherry cream layer and pressed the cherry halves into the cream! Absolutely delicious!

  22. Sherrill says:

so you melt mr goodbar in the micro? how many bars? if you gotta melt, you gotta melt? which is easier and cheaper? not sure i remember mr goodbar having a peanut butter flavor

  23. Cyd says:

Hi Vickie, we haven't ever substituted anything for the peanut butter because we are huge peanut butter fans. I'm sure you could use almond butter if it's about the same consistency as peanut butter.

  24. jeannie says:

These are great, the only problem I had is cutting them they looked terrible. Any tips on cutting them, would like to make again and share, thanks

  25. Sherry says:

Jeannie, I just made them tonight and put parchment in the pan. They won't be ready until morning but I will let you know if that works.

  26. Misty says:

You have no idea how happy this recipe has made me. My mom used to make these when I was little, especially around Christmas time. She called them "Bing Bars," but I had no idea it was based off of a real candy bar. It became harder and harder for her to make them over the years because she used powdered cherry frosting and that became almost impossible for her to find. She passed away six years ago and I still miss her like crazy, so thank you for posting this recipe and allowing me to recreate one of her most delicious desserts. It stirred up some amazing memories <3 They taste exactly like the ones she

  27. kathy says:

Love this idea wonder if could use cherries cut in since not nut fans here but son loves cherries. An we smooth peanut butter fans as well so does that matter? In any case plan to make for birthday party soon they sound so goodHappy Holidays an thanks for the recipes all year

  28. Debby says:

I made my own using cream cheese frosting, red food coloring and 3 tsp of juice from a jar of maraschino cherries. Turned out great.
